After building the Minnesota Golden Gophers up to a team to be reckoned with setting a school record in the 2017 season with a 56-5 record along with winning both the regular-season championship and Big-10 conference tournament title. Minnesota even reached number 1 in the rankings. But the call of her Alma mater was too great for head coach Jessica Allister as she has decided to take over the recently opened head coach position at Stanford when Rachel Hanson resigned as the team’s head coach. Stanford plays in the Pac-12 conference and Allister played for them from, 2001-2004.
Allister was 290-107 in her seven seasons of coaching for Minnesota. Both last year and this year she has been able
to attract several talented players to transfer to the Minnesota program.
Stanford has ended their season in last place for three consecutive years in the PAC-12 standings so Allister has a big job ahead of her. Will she pull any Minnesota players along with her to Stanford? If not it might be a long road for coach Allister to bring Stanford back to national notice again.
