LSU Tigers 2017 Season

LSU had an up and down year as usual. This team seems prone to streaky play at times. The Tigers were 48-22 overall and 12-12 in the SEC. Playing at home they were 30-6 while on the road their record was 9-10. Against Top 25
teams they struggled some going 12-17.

Head coach Beth Torina has taken the Tigers to the WCWS for the last several years but always falls short of winning it
all and this year was no exception.

After losing in the SEC Tournament Championship game to SEC champs Ole Miss LSU was picked to host a regional round in the NCAA playoffs. They opened with a 2-1 win over Fairfield before losing to Louisiana 2-4. They recovered though with a win over McNeese 10-1 and back-to-back wins against Louisiana 6-1 & 5-1. From there they moved on to the Super Regionals where they faced a tough Florida State team losing to them 1-3 before getting two wins 1-0 & 6-4. Those wins sent them back to the WCWS for another year. They started out with a 2-1 win over UCLA before suffering losses to Florida 0-7 and Oregon 1-4 to end their season.
