After going through some early season rough patches it seems like the team has gotten its stride after wins over
Tennessee State, 8-0 in a run ruled game 1 of Tuesday’s doubleheader. Caylan Arnold had eight strikeouts in a
complete-game, one-hit shutout to get the win. And in game 2 they took the 11-1 win in five innings. Kelsey Morrison got the start for Tennessee and threw 2.2 innings while allowing one run on two hits. Matty Moss came on in relief and tossed 2.1 hitless innings while recording four strikeouts and earning her 19th win of the year. With the win the team extened its in-state win streak to 92 games.
Meghan Gregg and Brooke Vines have been leading the offensive charge.
Tennessee (37-5) gets a stiff test this weekend when it host No. 9 Alabama on April 15-17. All three games will be
broadcast on the SEC Network.
